Hi,
I can't help with your family in Accrington, but my gr-gr-grandfather was James Parr also a son of Richard and Betty Stanhope, born 1842. The Parrs go back a long way in Blackpool and maybe we could swap any info.
Best wishes
Judith

looking for information about Richard Parr born c1862 in the Blackpool area, he married Mary who died 1/03/1919. It is thought they moved to the Accrington area of Lancashire and had children there. Richard came from a long established Parr family in Blackpool and his father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather were all called Richard. I now know that Richard and Mary had six children in Accrington Edward b1886, Richard b1887, Isabella b1890, Elizabeth b1891, William b1894 and Mary b1896. William married Elizabeth Hindle in 1914 and they had a son Eric b1917. Eric then married Edna May. Edna was widowed when Eric was killed in action in 1944. My trail ends there, can anyone in Accrington pick it up for me!
