I am trying to find information about my Great Grandmother. She was Mary Ann HINCHEY and was possibly from Ireland? I am not sure when she was born c1880 but she died in childbirth in 1910. She was married to William Alfred (possibly Henry) Smith born 1869 died Lewisham Union Infirmary 22/10/1911. Occupation listed as hawker living at Hindsley Place, Forest Hills at time of death. they had six children. They lived in Lewisham, Kent, England but travelled around a lot. John - born c 1899 Emma Mary - born 19/5/1901 died 4/3/1983 Joseph - born 1902 Joined British Navy was on ship H.M.S Vendetta D69 destroyer 'V' class no other record of him returning home. Michael Henry - born 16/4/1905 died 18/1/1972 George Joseph - born 27/8/1909 died 31/1/1986 Dorothy - born 30/11/1910 After their mother died Michael and George were sent to Bishop Brown Memorial Industrial School, an orphanage in Stockport, by their oldest brother John. The address given at the time of their mothers death was 24 Speedwell Street (off High Street) Deptford. A number of years later in the 20's both boys were sent to Canada. If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
