Hi Jackie, Thank you for your offer. Could you please see if you can find anything for Thomas Habberley b .23.10.1874, Smethwick. His mothers name was Ellen Habberley. I have his birth certificate but there is no father named on it. Chances are that there will be no father on this either, but its worth a try. Thank you. Netty.

That's interesting - are they on fiche or CD? I'm having a lot of trouble with my Mallet(t)s, who tend to give their children very similar names in each generation. I have a set of people who appear to be siblings from a will that I've found, but I'm having trouble finding their births. This is what I have so far:. Jonathan Mallet, born c 1769, died Lichfield 1835, aged 66. Possible baptism (IGI): 22 SEP 1769, Saint Mary, Lichfield (father: Thomas Mallett). I know you don't have Lichfield for that period, but could you check if there's a possible birth for him in Weeford, as some of his siblings seem to have been born there? Henry Mallet, born c. 1776, married Sarah Cocks/Cox/Cooks. Possible baptism (IGI): 13 JUN 1776, Weeford (no parents named). Harriett Mallet, born c 1784 or 1795 according to 1841 and 1851 censuses Possible baptism (IGI): 03 JUL 1778, Weeford (no parents named) The other siblings are Sarah, Thomas, Mary Ann and John. Father is probably Thomas Mallet. If you can find any of them, I'm obviously interested in the parents' names, father's occupation and abode. Thanks a lot! Mary

Hi Jacqueline, Thank you for your kind offer. I do understand that you may not have any luck, as your time is limited, and this is one with a common surname. I would like to find the baptism of a Thomas Allen if at all possible, circa 1806 in Tunstall according to the census. I will tell you what I know because anything you can tell me about this man would be helpfull as I don't know how he fits into the tree yet items of his are in the family's possessions, along with an illegitimate child with the middle name Allen, although the child was born 20 years before he was and in the sheffield area. His wife - Mrs Thomas Allen laid the foundation stone of the Primitive Methodist Jubilee chapel when it was built. Thomas Allen was a printer and stationer in Plex Street, Tunstall. He married twice, I have both of those marriages. I don't have a death for him. I did myself go ( a couple of years ago now) and wander round the churchyard of the christian church but no gravestones for any Allens. I did spend quite a bit of time trying to find the records for the jubilee chapel at Stafford Achives, but the ones listed as for the Jubilee chapel were wrongly indexed and were for another methodist church locally. Thomas Allen was in those account books as he supplied all their leaflets and papers. Anything you can think of or a baptism would be great, but I am not sure if the church was built in 1806 in Tunstall. Any ideas? Rachel

Jacqueline, Very much an off-chance that you can find out more than I have on a birth cert, Burslem. 2.1.1873, Ellen Jane Bourne. the name and maiden name of mother is shown as Sarah Ann Bourne Potter. No father is shown. So, am trying for the father and whether the maiden name is Potter or is that an occupation? (suspect the father is a Henry Jewess) Unlikely that you can add further, but worth a try. Best wishes Happy days

Hi Jaqueline Thanks for the offer. I have a Thomas Heath christened July 1731 and Mary christened Sept 1732 in Trentham, Staffordshire. Parents were William Heath and Mary. I can't find anything for William Heath. There might be something about him on the parish records. Any info at all would be great. Thank you again Marlene

Hi Jacqueline, Thankyou for your kind offer. I am looking for the possible marriage of John Mason about 1820 I believe he is the father of Elijah Mason b c1825 in Newcastle. I have Elijah through all censuses. In 1841 the household is: John Mason (50), Ann Mason (50), Enoch Mason (15), William Jackson(15), Elijah Mason (15), Mary (Jackson?), Ann Mason (10) and Charlotte Mason (5). I have found a possible birth and baptism on IGI : birth: 23 May 1825 baptism: 04 Jun 1825 Bethesda Chapel Albion Street - Methodist New Connexshe, Shelton, Stafford, England. This gives parents as John Mason and Ann Smith (which would tie-up with 1841 census). If you could find anything I would be VERY grateful. I hope this makes sense. Many Thanks Anne

Hi Jackie, Would you be able to look for Elizabeth Wilkinson, born about 1826/27, Gorsty Hill, Staffordshire. I believe it's quite close to Weston,( the one near Crewe ) which may have been in Staffs and not Cheshire then. Or anything on her Father James Wilkinson, or Mother, Mary, sorry Surname unknown. Many Thanks, Ellen.

Hi Jackie, many thanks for your kind offer. May I ask for two lookups...both in Handsworth though I think Handsworth may have moved between different counties at different times so I don't know whether you can help. I am looking for: 1) the birth of William Micklewright c1819. William's father was Samuel Micklewright (a farmer). 2) the birth of Mary Windsor c1821. Mary's father was John Windsor (a groom).
