Thank you for looking - it was a long shot. I think I will have to add this to my 'to do' list for my next visit to the FRC.

Hi Tracy No sign of the death of John Alfred Jordan in any year from 1926-1940 - I checked Consular deaths as well, just in case. There is one Elizabeth M Jordan birth - Registered in Limla (at least it looks like that) in the Army Births 1931 - 1935 Vol 193P Page 324, probably not yours. Unfortunately I don't have 1936-1940 Army births, I know they exist because I have a relative on that register and have had access to it (Family Records Centre). Charlotte

Hi Karen No Aspinall/Dickinson marriage anywhere in that period. It doesn't mean it didn't happen just that it wasn't registered with a Consulate. Charlotte

Hi Irene & Lib Sorry, it doesn't cover death during war - there must be some other way of getting a certificate, another register of some sort but I don't know what. I have updated my posting to make this clear for others. Charlotte

Hi Charlotte, Many thanks for your very kind offer. Do you have access to deaths in the Ionian Islands? I think this should be army. I am looking for the death or any other details of a Joseph Woolidge or Woulidge. I have reason to believe it was in Corfu, and it must be somewhere between 1855 and 1865 Thanks in advance for your trouble, and not to worry if you can't find it. Regards and best wishes Jane

Categories are Army, Marine, Regimental, Consular. I will need Name of person, category (Army includes family) period and Country or Area. This will provide you with the reference in order to obtain certificate. Some Regimental BMDs are of events which occurred in England. Deaths during war are not covered by these records.
