Find Ancestors

Have either of you thought of sending off for James's Naval records ? You have the details of his Occupation etc and the name of the ship he was working on. Maybe his service records would shed some lite on his situation ? Elaine ;-)

Cheers ! It ALL helps ... process of ellimination. Benjamins Mum sure did get around girls !! lol ! The only thing I have noticed is that she did SEEM to be married before having the children. This leads me to believe that she DID marry James McL Henderson ........ and I am at the point now that I really do think they MAY have married onboard ship ....... but WHERE you find the indexes for those marriages beats me !! I WILL find out ! The other thing to consider is that James was NOT deceased in 1949 .... Benjamin just believed that ! when he got married. Chances are that the father also married again .......or went back to his first wife (if indeed he had been married at the time ! Elaine ;-)

I'll see if I can find it again.............. If my memory isn't playing tricks, it was in Hammersmith........certainly that sort of area, as I remember thinking that if he was going to abandon his wife and move in with someone else, he wouldn't do it on his own doorstep, so to speak............ On one of the threads which Tracey deleted, I posted info about a marriage of a James McL Henderson in about 1919.............there was no feedback from Tracey about it; at least, not that I saw before the thread disappeared..... Reg

Hi babe ! Your NOT butting in ! All info and help welcome. Now that we have the info in some sort of assemblance, it is clearer to see where we are going and where we have been ! I must get some credit for ScotlandP but at moment I am unable to. Family rells is about to run out as well :-( but hey ... April is another month ! Sorry to butt in Elaine. There are 3 James McLean Henderson births in Scotland. 1883, 1885 and 1897. According to the IGI, the 1897 one died though (found by FC). No matches for a marriage to a Florence. However, there are 2 marriages listed. I haven't looked at the details, but I guess they could be the older two James'.

Your both welcome ! FC has found a birth of James McLean Henderson in SCOTLAND ....... and the death :-( I'll add the info to this thread, then we can keep it all together .. (if FC doesn't mind !)

Elaine.. re--jean fairbank---june fairbank c1930 she was def called jean fairbank,i knew her she only died 2 weeks ago. As for the marriage certs, i live in halifax where the marriages took place and where they have been ordered from, I will go to the reg office this week and try and boot them up the backsides LOL Will post all the details on this thread when i get the certs.
