Hi Sarah and Tracey, It would seem that James is ment to have died while the boys were too young to remember him..........yes? There is another possibilty..........James didn't die, they would be the first children that were told one of their parents had died when in fact they hadn't. Regards Fiona.

FC. Tracey has the birth certificate for the 2 nd son Benjamin Thomas Henderson. His father is registered James McLean Henderson Mother Florence Henderson nee Monday So far we have: James M Henderson reg March 1921 Halifax Benjamin Thomas Henderson Dec 1922 Both have mothers maiden name : Monday. on the index ..... BUT are they actually brothers or is it just a coincidence ? One or BOTH of you should get the certificate for James M Henderson ...... just to make sure that he is a BROTHER of Benjamin. I have checked ( as have others) for a marriage between James Henderson & Florence Monday from 1911 - 1920 and 1921 - 1925 ... nothing. Girls: Where does the second marriage for Florence come into it ? Do you KNOW for a fact she is YOUR Florence ????? did she have children that you KNOW about - your relatives ? Elaine ;-)

Thanks for that Tracey x Have either of you got the actual marriage certificates ... or is all this info, passed down from family/relatives ? Just wondering how much has been confirmed aloing the way. (I'm not convinced about the James J Henderson who died in 1940), YET !

Unknown Report 7 Mar 2006 23:17

Tracey, His MARRIAGE cert (Benjamin's) gives BOTH parents names ? where did he get married !! ? I can see what your saying about the change in occ ... but to be quite honest, it's not a DRASTIC change, nothing I would be VERY concerned about. Stoker and Fireman are just about the same job or so I have always thought ... I COULD be wrong. A Stoker, keeps the Fires stoked for the engines ... a Fire Man keeps the Fires going for the engines ... hope someone can give an accurate account of BOTH occ's ! Elaine ;-)

Haligonian Report 7 Mar 2006 23:24

elaine,, benjamin got married in halifax west yorks to a mary thorne nee graydon.1949 tracey

Unknown Report 7 Mar 2006 23:48

So in 1949 Benjamin's Marriage cert states Father: James McLean Henderson (Deceased). So this is where the death comes to light. Maybe the marriage certificate between Florence Henderson & Frank Hardcastle would state whether Florence is a WIDOW or not ? Has anyone got this certificate ? I'll be back tomorrow to pick up the trail again. Elaine ;-)
