Hi Zoe, I am so, so sorry, I just checked my information and Thomas Collins and Mary A Duffy didn't get married untill 1866 so they couldn't be in the census as a married family anyway. I am not sure which one of the Thomas Collins's you have would have been mine but if any of them also has a father called Thomas Collins from Ireland then that would be the one. Is there anyway you can look and check for me please. I have not got that far yet, it would be a great help if I found out his mothers name too.. thank you!!! Betty

Margaret do you have any census info on him maybe the 1861 1871 so it is easier to trace back as I cannot find one born in Greetland ~ and am I right in thinking Greetland is near or in Halifax? If you don't have them I can help you find them! Zoe

Hi Zoe I am having great dificulty finding Mary Ann Davis b. 1818 Westminster in 1851 Census. She was married to Charles Davis but he does not appear to be with his wife at time of Census She had 4 children Charles b. 1845 Westminster Emma b. 1847 Westminster Charlotte1849 Westminster and Isobel b. 1850 Westminster. Hi Zoe, I have a James Hodgson born 1834/5 at Sutton on the Forest I think. He is a servant in Easingwold, Yorks, in 1851 and I think he got married in 1854.
