1871 census Wigan look up please James Mason

Hi Annete JUst wondering if it would be possible to find this family on the 1871 census. they lived next door to James at beech cottage on 1881 census so possible some relation although have son born 1865 may live close to on 1871 census. Glyn On 1871 census James is living At HOME with elder brother Robert ( see Annettes listing ) Father James, mother Mary and eight children. Manchester Road Keble St Ince Father Grocer Barbara |

May be this is why I can't find James may be he was not born Wigan. Thomas & Agnes say birth Wigan on 1881 census but born in Cambridgeshire. Could be his aunt & uncle will look again on free bmd to see if I can find birth |

Glyn, The best way to confirm (one way or another) whether James was born in Wigan would be to write to the Registry Office and ask them to do a 5-year search. There may be several births registered in the name James Mason but your search will be narrowed down because you have a middle name. Good luck with your searches. |
