Posted a request for a look-up for my father Matthew Dunlop Keir b 8th Feb 1919, wanted his parents names. Forget that!! I have them now. Thanks anyway. Wondered if you could help with another one though. I would like to find out where his 1st marriage took place and when the only info I have is from 2nd marriage cert:- Matthew Dunlop Keir Divorcee of Winifred Penelope Keir (nee Povey) possibly took place in Kippen, Stirling (Year??) I would like any info if you can find it eg Witness etc. Thanks Forgot to put in a date!!!! His 2nd marriage in Liverpool was 19th January 1946, so his 1st is before that. I would guess 1937?+

Hi Mhaira Another look-up if you have time. Can you look for John & Elizabeth Marrow on the 1901 census. They would be 25 & 22 , & I know John born in England. Although they married in Hull in 1900 I can't find them down south. My great grandmother was John's sister & moved to the Calton district of Glasgow when she married a Scotsman, I just want to check the possability that John moved North also. His occupation in 1900 was a Labourer. Only 15 Marrow on the 1901 census so just a vague chance Thanks in advance Jim

Mhairi, I have recently discovered through an application for poor relief that my gg grandmother Elizabeth Duncan had a illegitimate son William b.18/11/1874 in Glasgow city poorhouse. The father was a William Hainey. By 1881 she had married someone else , but William is not with the family on the census. Could you 1. Find out the surname William was registered under (Duncan/Hainey. May also be Dillon) and was the father named 2. Can you check for his death between 1874-81 since he was not with the family. Thanks in advance, Jim

You will certainly be busy by the looks of things. I am trying to establish my connection with Thomas the doughty Dickson from Douglas. Supposed to be on my ggrandfathers paternal grandmother line but so far have been unable to acheive any results. James Dickson McKerrow b1867 Douglas d 1947 Pollockshields parents Alexander McKerrow b1835 Douglas d1909 Douglas Isabella McGregor Lawcock b1825 douglas d 1912 Glasgow Alexanders parents are John McKerrow b 1816 Galston d 1900 douglas Jean/Jane Sloan b1812 Douglas This is where I am stuck because his mother is supposed to be a DICKSON. Its possible there were 2 Alexander McKerrow born around the same time and the 2 have been mixed up. Also the McGregor connection is still eluding me. If you have time for any of this it would be a great help Thanks again for thinking of us all on here. GLoria
