Oh dear...in 1901 he is married (aged 36) to a 22 year old (who is actually 21). Marriage is in 1900. Wife is Ethel Beatrice Nurse. Only problem is that there is a 7 year old called Robert Annis living with them who I assume is their son - which means that not that long after the 1881 census he is going to get a 15 year old into trouble!!... Yes the details you have found are correct. There is a birth for a Robert Leslie Annis dec 1893 st pancras vol 1b page 103 Maybe the child was his as it seems a long time between the birth and marriage. Lynda

Ok - have found marriage on BMD for Walter John ANNIS Sept 1891 Westminster to either Frances Matilda GILLMOR or Blanche Emma LEADBETTER. Trouble is I can't find a death fr either Frances Annis or Blanche Annis - any ideas? Other male in 1891 marriages is John J J Ellison - is there a Blanche or Florence Ellison with appropriate husband in 1901 which would narrow the search?

Looks very likely, doesn't it - especially with the transcription errors.....at least they are both born in the right place and the Nurse family are basically fishermen so there is a seagoing link...except of course Frederick the Baker (and his name is really Lewis, Fred is his middle name....)
