Hi Philip could you look for a death of Alfred Greenwood between 1901-1905 Born poss 1843 Thaxted Essex. Last trace was 1901 census Standford-Le-Hope Essex with his wife and 10 children. Thankyou Jane.

Hi Ralph, I have found a marriage for a Mary Newberry in Radford (I think that is in Nottingham) in Oct 1859. Volume 7b page 310. It does not say who she married. You should be able to find something on Ancestry or Free BMD with the reference. Phil

Philip, Thank you for your kind offer. Could you look for a marriage of Mary (Ann) Risdale to Edmund Marsh around 1858-1861. It could be in Saltfleet, Lincolnshire where Mary was born (or possibly Doncaster, Yorkshire). I can't find the marriage anywhere else. Many thanks in advance. Jenny

Jane, The only Alfred I can find around the right age died aged 50, in Wolstanton (Staffordshire) in 1902. I can give you the details if you think it may be yours. Phil

Hi Jess, You could be right, all the rest seem to fit....thank you. I know that the wife was a widow in 1881 aged 71, so may be she was a widow by the 1861 census, quite possible. Like you say. with a name like that, John Walker, he is quite impossible to find.....but at least I have a starting point now.....next step to find his birth, or apply for a marriage cerf, which might give me what I want...thanks for your help......again lol......Lilly

He is my Grandmothers father.... My Grandmother May Seers b:2 Feb 1912 Crewe Cheshire. I think she is the Second Youngest Child Her Sister Edith b:1907 Nobody can find May's Birth either...they can only find one b:1912 In Poplar.... I have got her Sisters birth info but didnt want to send for Certificate yet was wondering if you could find the Mother for me first? Hope you can help? Regards Lesley :~)
