I have a marriage cert: May 16th 1891 for James Lamb 1865 and Elizabeth Brennen 1869. James is a widower and living with family in 1891 census, Address is 6, Nuttall Street Chorlton on Medlock Hulme Manchester, this is also his given address on marriage cert! The following is him: Chorlton on Medlock Lancashire Lamb, James abt 1834 Kerridge, Cheshire, England Head Chorlton on Medlock Lancashire >>>>Lamb, James abt 1865 Manchester, Lancashire, England Son Chorlton on Medlock Lancashire Lamb, Martha abt 1878 Manchester, Lancashire, England Daughter Chorlton on Medlock Lancashire Lamb, Mary abt 1835 Weastis, Lancashire, England Wife Chorlton on Medlock Lancashire Lamb, Mary I abt 1873 Manchester, Lancashire, England Daughter Chorlton on Medlock Lancashire Lamb, Robert abt 1874 Manchester, Lancashire, England Son Chorlton on Medlock Lancashire Lamb, William H abt 1863 Manchester, Lancashire, England Son Chorlton on Medlock Lancashire I can not locate Elizabeth Brennen in 1891, her details on marriage cert are: Elizabeth Brennen 22yrs spinster, Address (would you believe it) 5, Nuttall Street Chorlton on Medlock Hulme Manchester. The image for this one looks like Brennen to me. Mother is Margaret, 52 widow. Hi Fiona Ive seen that one and the address is not the same as the one on her marriage cert! Which is 5, Nuttall street Chorlton on Medlock Hulme. Im not convinced thats her......unless she was only staying at 5, Nuttall Street when she married! However that wouldnt make sence as Nuttall Street is in the same area as the family you found! Lib |

Lady I looked at 5 Nuttall Street, which is 2 images along from her future husband (Lamb family), and there is a different family living there. Perhaps Elizabeth moved there between the census and getting married. Suzy |

Lib Does Elizabeth have a profession on her marriage certificate? The one Fiona had found certainly looks like Brennan, and she is a macintosh garment maker! Suzy |

Is it definitely a 5 and not 6 the same as her husband.She may have moved in just before she married him and got married from the same address,this is what my gg grandparents did. Therefore she could have been anywhere in the 1891 census. Deborah |

Deb/Lib Apparently people getting married often put the same address, although they weren't living together. Something about saving money on the church banns being read in only one parish. Suzy |

Hi Suzy The marriage cert is the only source of info I have for her, I know she died by 1901 as her Daughter Mary Jane Lamb was with her paternal grandparents! Mary Jane Lamb is my hubbys grandmother, she lived with her grandparents from being 4yr old. Her father re-married and had more children, which I have located in 1901! Lib |
