there's this one from Easington, which isn't that far from Gateshead, ( the other one in 1861 is much farther north) Name: Tarbit, Henry Record Type: Deaths Quarter: June Year: 1860 District: Easington County: Co. Durham Volume: 10a Page: 171 Nothing to say that this is the right one, of course

deciphering handwriting of that time often results in transcription errors. any idea where henry may have been living when he died - if you get what I mean!! perhaps I should swallow dictionary again and ask where he was residing at time of death!1

Sorry, info came from ancestry site, you'll need to get cert for name of informant 2 Henry TarbIts (not Tarbet) death registered in Co Durham in 1860 and 61

on the marriage cert patrick married alice tarbet no middle name they were married on the 24th oct 1863 the same date as my wife and i funny

Does Alice have a second name that you know of? its just that in 1871 Matthew has a Father called Patrick and a mother called Ellen

Mark, if i understand this correctly you have Matthews birth cert , Yes? it says his fathers is Patrick and his mothers is Alice , Yes?

Have checked all his daughters from 1881 census for a marriage to a Charlton but none. I wonder if the death certificate is wrong? Will see if anyone else can help x

alices father was henry tarbet he was dead when they got married in 1863 and patricks father is down as anthony and he is also dead its like hitting a wall

looking at patrick death cert it says that his son in law g charlton was preasent at death in shadforth in the district of saint nichols durham xx alice was born in stella
