Does Alice have a second name that you know of? its just that in 1871 Matthew has a Father called Patrick and a mother called Ellen

on the marriage cert patrick married alice tarbet no middle name they were married on the 24th oct 1863 the same date as my wife and i funny

Sorry, info came from ancestry site, you'll need to get cert for name of informant 2 Henry TarbIts (not Tarbet) death registered in Co Durham in 1860 and 61

deciphering handwriting of that time often results in transcription errors. any idea where henry may have been living when he died - if you get what I mean!! perhaps I should swallow dictionary again and ask where he was residing at time of death!1

thanks for the info about the tarbets have been on phone to records office and the anthony fahey that died in march 1852 the person witnessing the death was his son patrick fahey even the caures of death ties in malnurishment its belived they came to england in the potato famine

Mark, on Matthews birth certificate, does it actually say Alice Tarbett?

on mathews birth cert it says mother alice tarbet

Really dont know what to suggest, will try and get more people looking!!!
