And here's the bonus for 10 :)) 1841 ho107/1265/11 f8 pp7-8 Living Skinner Street. Robert HILL 30 lab Mary 25 William 5 Mary 2 Note - although the parish is Ruswarp, Skinner street is in Whitby. Whitby (as we know it today) was spread over the parishes of Whitby and Ruswarp. The village of Ruswarp is in Ruswarp Parish as well - just to confuse things. Remember ages on the 1841 are rounded down - 0-14=as stated, 15-19=15, 20-24=20 etc.

Maureen - the 1871 for Robert that you found gave me the clue. It's not Wham when you look at the image - it's Wharram (which is not that far from Grimston). Hi Maureen Not in Scarborough in 1841 I'm afraid. Had a look at Scalby also as I thouht this might have been misheard as Scorby. Unfortunately some of the images on my discs aren't very good and Scalby just happens to be one of them! So perhaps you could ask if someone else has the 1841 and can look at Scalby for you. Thanks Jeanette These two families are my headache lol. As I cannot find a birth record for Hannah to get her birth cert. I do think her baptism is on the Igi with a mother of Mary Hence the ?? is her though. I have applied for 1 cert and had my cheque sent back. Family History, Eh Maureen

I think that the family may have moved on and just put both children as born Grimston. Best thing i can think to do is look for Robert's birth and get the certificate and see where he is actually born. it could just be that they were somewhere else census night and then went back there. Hi Maureen I had a look on the 1841 in Egton for you but your Robert wasn't there. There was a Hill family with a son called Robert though so perhaps his father was a brother of your Robert. Jeanette x
