How do i go about finding people living in america? Also does anyone know how i could get passenger lists free with people who emmigrated to america. Also i know there was a muriel scrutton that was her maiden name and a Keith Scrutton there parents lived in Michigan.

check ellis island they have lists of people going to america and ancestry has cencus right up to 1930

Well Muriel abd keith must have been born 1930's or early 40's I have richard and roberts social security no. and it states that the Muriel and keith's uncle Richard dies in Dearborn Wayne Michigan so their father musthave died there aswell. I have the zip code, if that helps.

How did you get that! You don't know how i could find any of his relatives do you?

Not sure how to find out any children he had, will ask the husband when he gets home if it's possible. He's the American not me, I'm English. Could take a visit to the Library this weekend and see if I can find any Scruttons in the Directories for that area if you think it would help.

That would be fab but if it's too much trouble then it doesn't matter. I would just love to get in touch with them! I would try and find muriel but don't know her married name or if she is even still alive.

Yes it would give the address, no trouble at all the kids love a visit to the library and it's give me something to do while they take their usual 3 hours choosing one book. Will ask my husband if there is anyway of finding out as well.

Yes and when they came over his name Robert Scrutton i think he was married to Mrytle but not sure if he got married in uk or us. He was born in 1902 and died 1963, i am also trying to see when his brother came over Richard scrutton who i think was married to a Mabel but not sure if he got married here or over there. He was born in 1898 and died i 1971. But i am also really interested to find any living relatives.

They must have came over between mid 1920's to early 1930's. That is just a rough estimate though.

Looks like Keith's wife is Joan M Scrutton born June 1936. Crista
