Susan, Social Security Death Records can be found the LDS site. (familysearch org). It's free to view. Just need to register. You can also look for other Scruttons in the current phone directory at superpages(.)com and/or whitepages(.) com. There is only 1 in Michigan, Gratia B Scrutton. There are several more in other states. Good luck with your search Rose

Hello Debby i think i have found him but cannot find his brother Richard b 1898?

Have Robert on 1930 census wife Myrtle was from Canada and Muriel was 2. It says Robert came to the States in 1903? If you'd like the image send you e-mail to my mail.

They must have came over between mid 1920's to early 1930's. That is just a rough estimate though.

Yes and when they came over his name Robert Scrutton i think he was married to Mrytle but not sure if he got married in uk or us. He was born in 1902 and died 1963, i am also trying to see when his brother came over Richard scrutton who i think was married to a Mabel but not sure if he got married here or over there. He was born in 1898 and died i 1971. But i am also really interested to find any living relatives.

Yes it would give the address, no trouble at all the kids love a visit to the library and it's give me something to do while they take their usual 3 hours choosing one book. Will ask my husband if there is anyway of finding out as well.

That would be fab but if it's too much trouble then it doesn't matter. I would just love to get in touch with them! I would try and find muriel but don't know her married name or if she is even still alive.

Not sure how to find out any children he had, will ask the husband when he gets home if it's possible. He's the American not me, I'm English. Could take a visit to the Library this weekend and see if I can find any Scruttons in the Directories for that area if you think it would help.
