GEORGE I believe this may be them let me know the spelling is not middlesbrough though it is middlesborough & Elizas name is transcribed as Levina census 1871 Dennis Griffin head 30yrs ireland labourer ironworks Levina ,, wife 30yrs middlesborough Edwin ,, son 2yrs ,, john ,, son 12yrs ,, scholar Thos ,, son 8yrs ,, scholar 41 D????? PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO SPELL KNOWN PLACE NAMES CORRECTLY AND UNLESS IT IS A WELL KNOWN (SOUTHERN) PLACE NAME INCLUDE THE COUNTY. OTHERWISE I WASTE HOURS AND END UP HITTING THE ATLAS FOR INFO WHICH I SHOULDN'T NEED TO DO

Could you lookup in 1871 Dennis Griffin and wife Eliza, 3 sons John 10ish, Thomas 8 Edward 3, all residing in Middlesbrough area,considered Durham in 1871 Dennis aged about 34 born Ireland, Eliza,c30yrs, born Leeds Also a Hardwick Sanley, 17, born Yorkshire, Thank you George

PATRICIA The only match I can find that in anyway fits the details is this 1871 CENSUS Ann Doherty Head Age 50yrs Coal Merchant born Tipperary William Doherty Son Age 19yrs Coal Dealer born Middlsex Im not convinced this is them but Im drawing blanks sorry

Margaret he is on the 1871 aged 66yrs with margaret age 64yrs in Gateshead Durham. Their occupations are watchman and watchmans wife In 1881 Margaret is widowed and living with her son and his family in Monkwearmouth Durham. Im off to bed now

Louisa hes on the 1901 census along with numerous siblings. However Full Ancestry access is limited by country so English subscribers do not have access to american census details and vice versa unless you take out seperate subscription for the other country so i cant help you with philadelphia sorry. If you want any brit stuff on him let me know
