Hi Debra Real Long shot. I have GG Grandad married in London in 1847 name John Daniels. Census details says he was born in c. 1795ish USA British Subject father James Daniels Merchant. No other details. I expect this is too little info, but if I don't try I'll never know! I realise this is probably too few details so don't spend precious time looking. Lynda

Hi Debra, Thanks for the offer. I'm not sure how it's indexed, but if possible could you please check the 1890 census for Walter DAVIDSON aged 34 (possibly a Joiner) born Galashiels, Scotland. I know he was single when he went Stateside post-1881, but don't have a clue where to! Thanks, Nigel Fairbairn

Hi Deborah, Please look for William (John) Linden (could be Lindon, Lyndon or Lynden) who went to America sometime after 1884. He was born about 1858 but I don't know where. Also Benjamin (Edward) Linden, born Liverpool 1883. I think he went sometime before 1900 but came back to England at some point before he married in Manchester 1916 and then went back again. Many thanks, Lilian
