Trying to find Albertson

Hi Carolyn,

Just got back on the computer again after a few days and a few problems with it. I'm catching up with messages etc.

I don't know if Hannah had a brother. I don't know very much about her except her Father was William Albertson. The census said she was born Widnes but the nearest place I found a birth was Runcorn and that was for a Ann Albertson. Could be her.

William was a seaman. I have no idea where he travelled on the sea. I don't know if he went to the US. I need to go to The National Archives at Kew. I might be able to find something there.

I'm not much help at the moment.

It is very interesting though that you have a William Penn Albertson in your tree.

When I looked at other records there seems to be a lot of Albertsons in the US. Also in some European countries but not many here.

Until I visit Kew I'm at a bit of a dead end with this branch.

I'm sorry I'm not much help. Keep in touch though.

Janet

Hi Jan,

Yes, my grandmother was an Albertson. Her dad was William Penn Albertson, born in 1838, we think in Indiana, USA, but not sure. We cannot find his parents anywhere.

Its interesting that your your Hannah's father was also William Albertson. Do you know if Hanna had a brother?? The age would be about right. Do you know if your William sailed to the US??

Let me know please.

Carolyn

Does anyone have any Albertsons in their family tree living in Cheshire about 1841 around Runcorn or Widnes areas? I am looking for Hannah ( or Ann) Albertson who's father was William Albertson. William was a Seaman and so far I can't trace him (might have been on a boat) or Hannah. Hannah married 1862 and I found her on 1871 census in Manchester. But for some reason I cannot find her anywhere on census before she married.
