who did he marry, we can at least look for wedd details. are you sure he was england?

You're going to think I'm a misery........but........if you can't find the birth reg'n you can't be sure where he was born.

You might have to have a re-think on this one..........look for his marriage...........the cert will tell you how old he said he was, plus his father's name, which would be a start for you.......

Ive also looked for his birth to find ref so i can get birth cert but not having no luck.

He was born in Croydon.

Im going on what has been found before for my dad, i want to get his birth cert but cant find ref for it.
I have tried looking on Ancestry at census but no matches found is what comes up everytime.

is his b yr correct? hes not in dec 1919 or jan 1920

Your father's birth cert will have the full names of both parents, whcih will enable you to trace the marriage registration. From the marriage cert, you will learn his age at the time, plus the name and occupation of his father.........and then you can probably start using the censuses to work backwards.

Alternatively, if you are certain of his DOB, find the birth reg'n and you will learn the MMN. You can then search for other children whose info matches..............

My grandad was called Frederick William Coulstock.

He died in 1971, before i was born, in june i think and he was born on 4th december 1919, he was my dad's dad, im trying to find anything about him, like siblings and his parents, so far i cant find anything and would like some help please.
