Hi

As Ann said in France you need to contact the local mairie. You will need to give the name and date of birth. French local records usually go back to 1900 before that it will be parish records.

I forgot to tell you that on the certificate you will get the birth/marriage and death info. (After birth the other details are added on when they occur).

For France, you need to apply to the Town Hall (Mairie)local to where the event took place. Email them first to check. I've sent off for 2 and they were free!

Depends on the state for the US. Try Googling the state name and certificate.
