In the 1881 census lookup for thmoas henderson (34) there are

ann henderson aged 10
helen 34
helen J 1
Hendry 4
Thomas 34
Ann Robertson 75

so i thought the wedding certificate for John Robertson was to Ann Laing?

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 6 Oct 2007 12:53

yes i have corrected that,i'm ill in bed.... lol, hence some of the missing words... i can't hit the buttons hard enough on my laptop lol

Sure i'll get looking on the census's for you now.

Samantha

Samantha Report 6 Oct 2007 12:53

huh? ive got it the other way ?

Samantha

Samantha Report 6 Oct 2007 12:50

Shouldnt that be the other way round?? Ann Laing and isabella Froulis/ Houlis?

Also would you be able to help me find any siblings of Helen Robertson and Thomas Henderson?

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 6 Oct 2007 12:48

Helen Robertson's parents are John & Ann Robertson maiden name Laing and Thomas Henderson's parents are Henry & Isabella Henderson maiden Houlis?.

Samantha

Samantha Report 6 Oct 2007 12:46

I have them written down but i couldnt find that Helen Robertson and Thomas Henderson had a child called Christina though

oooooooooooh so thats how they were connected!

Right well i have Helen born December 30th 1847, and Thomas born in 1846. Helens mum was Ann Laing, and her dad was John Robertson.

Then Thomas Hendersons mum was Isabella Froulis (?) and his dad was Henry Henderson.

So i am on the right line!

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 6 Oct 2007 12:44

they are the names on Christina Hendersons Birth registration....

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 6 Oct 2007 12:43

they married in Dairsie so i'd be looking to find the parents there in 1871 !

Samantha

Samantha Report 6 Oct 2007 12:42

Wayne - can i ask a question? Where di you get Helen And Thomas form because althoguh i have them on my page im not sure fi they are right or not and i dont know where i got them from. Is it on the census information for Christina in 1901? because i honestly cant remember where those names came from or where i found them

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 6 Oct 2007 12:40

her parents are def Thomas & Helen Henderson nee Robertson, they were married Nov 26th 1869. So is this def your Christina?

Samantha

Samantha Report 6 Oct 2007 12:36

and now theres another john henderson married a jane and they had a daughter christina who was also 8 i think in 1891 - but becuase i couldnt read the writing on the marriage certificate i dont know what the name was of her mother

Samantha

Samantha Report 6 Oct 2007 12:33

um...............i think i mgiht have something on the 1891 census. i tyoed in to look for John Henderson (im so sure it says this on her marriage certificate as her dads name and put christina as a second name and now ive got aJoh nhenderson married a Mary with a daughter christina who would have been 8 years old in 1891

what do you think? they are in Savoch?

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 6 Oct 2007 12:30

She would still be under her own name, all i am saying is people tend to change their birth place to be the current name for where-ever it is....

I had one in my tree, first is was musbury, then new accrington, then old accrington, then accrington etc... people tend to change their birthplace name to whatever it's currently know as when the census was done! Things were changing so fast back then villages being absorbed into bigger districts etc

Samantha

Samantha Report 6 Oct 2007 12:27

Ill go back and look at her 1901 census again but im sure it said she was in fife when she was working for the mitchell family. Sayign that she wouldnt be under henderson then would she if she was a servant would she be under kate and robert mitchell instead?

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 6 Oct 2007 12:24

there are no Henderson's at all coming from Ceres in 1891, thats what makes me say are you sure she hasn't put in Ceres in the 1901 census, but in fact when she was born the area was called something else? and maybe she's put the 'new' modern equivalent??

Samantha

Samantha Report 6 Oct 2007 12:20
