I am stuck with this one, as you can imagine the amount of John Smith's are to say the least plentiful.

The only helpful thing is that I have found George's and Alfred's birth. I'm sure how it works out, but Both of them have the same middle name "Frost". This was at some point hyphenated and I'm not sure at which point.

Alfred married Annie Margaret Brown using the name Frost-Smith and this has been the surname used past this point. However...
John also has the same Frost as he's middle name when he married Lydia Cevil in Q4 1872.

Any help will be greatly appreciated here, i'm going stir crazy trying to find John's family.

No, kinda short on funds at the mo, so trying to make use out of Ancestry as much as I can before I have to cut that off too!

But getting nowhere fast! It's getting the point that I am having to order every single cert for this side of the family.

I had to order my grandfather's cert to get he's father Alfred. Then ordered Alfred's to get he's parent's!
If my granddad was alive today he would be kicking me something rotten for my indepth search on he's family! Bless him.

I would love to yes, but when he married in 1918 which I know is a long way off 1901 he's marriage cert states he was a labourer.

Could it be him? Why in Gloustershire?

Yes - about lunatic. But doesn't necessarily mean she was mad. People were put into lunatic asylums for all kinds of reasons, such as alcoholism or women going through hormonal imbalance during menopause.

Are you sure about the death of John?

William was born in 1886, and John died in 1883?

Not sure on that one?

Was gonna suggest that William may have been a Grandson, but it says son on census.

This John Frost Smith was 8 years old. I thought it might be a connection.

Was just looking at that death you found for John, and I don't think it's him, as Ancestry have this.
