Hi Denise, thanks for that- yes I do have the Royal Navy record to which you refer but I understand that John joins the Merchant Navy later on... its that record that I need to get a copy of- not available online unfortunately.

I need a look up in the National Archives Merchant Seamen files.

I need help tracing Merchant Navy records for two of my great uncles.

John Henry Pearce "Jack" born 16 Sep 1890 Gunnislake, Calstock, Cornwall

and his brother

Stanley Thomas/Thomas Stanley Pearce "Tom" born 27 March 1897 Gunnislake, Calstock, Cornwall

I understand that they were both Merchant Navy, the second brother early on and the elder brother after his Royal Navy career which lasted at least until 1929. He died in 1946.

I understand that Stanley went on to the Army later on.

I'd be so grateful for your help.
