Dear Debby

Have you tried the following website -

www.genealogylinks.net/marriages/uk/ireland/index.html

not sure if the marriages will be late enough but might be worth a look.

best wishes

Maria

I'm hoping someone can give me a clue where to start. My husband's parents Winifred Dyer b(1920) and Thomas Towers (b1919) were originally from Poplar and Preston respectively. His eldest sister was born around 1940 but we can find no record in the UK of a marriage of his parents. Family anecdotes (not that reliable) say that they were married somewhere in Ireland but no idea where or when. Both of his parents have been dead for sometime now and a lot my husbands family are out of contact so we have nothing else to go on at the moment. Is there anyone out there who can help or steer me in the right direction please it's been 5 years of fruitless searching so far!
