I'm looking for parents info and hope that Benjamin Hetherington born in Thurnscoe in1823 (baptized7th Dec 1823) will provide this Info. Benjamin is my GT GT Grandfather who married 30th Jul 1848
I'm hoping that his birth record will give me more clues. His Marriage cert shows his father as Thomas

Parents Thomas and Sarah but no maiden name for Sarah given.

Hetherington is mistranscribed as Etherington.

Benjamin had 2 sisters:

Margaret baptised 12 February 1820
Ann baptised 20 July 1817

both Thurnscoe.

John, if you've already found his baptism in 1823 that's all you'll get. Registration didn't start until Sep 1837.

Thanks everyone, it's Thomas that has eluded me for over a year now. I can't seem to find his birth, siblings or parents... The IGA states that he was born of Arksey but looking through these records I can't find his birth or any other Hetherington/Etherington in that parish. I'm sure he wants to be found but I can't seem to find his family

Update:
The Arksey Parish records have no Thomas Hetherington being born there at any time. Thomas was definately born somewhere in 1796.
There is a Thomas Hetherington born in Mexbro (Mexborough) in 1796, just down from Arksey with Bentley. Could this be my Thomas?? Thomas married in Arksey in 1815 to a Sarah Booth.

..Also is there a Sarah Hetherington,wife of Thomas Hetherington that may have died around 1823 when Benjamin was born?
