So Beverley, now that you have said in your thread about Edith Crick that her husband was William James Barker, it would seem that he is this one, mentioned in my previous post:

That's how you'll find his parents' names, and of course his father's name should be on the marriage certificate from 1931.

Hi Beverley -- there doesn't appear to have been a just plain William Barker born around that date in Suffolk.

You should take a shot yourself -- go to

http://www.freebmd.org.uk

and search.


If you can identify his birth, you can order up his birth certificate and get his parents' names.

Or you can sit tight and wait for FreeBMD to get its transcriptions completed up to the date when William and Edith married -- after 1911, you can search for bride surname + groom surname, so eventually it will be a piece of cake. That certificate will get you his father's name, and you can then work backwards.

If any sounds right, get the details at FreeBMD and order up the certificate!

William Barker was born on the 08/02/1908 in Suffolk I believe. Any info on his parents would be appreciated. He had 2 Brothers, one was called Charles. William Barker married Edith Mary Crick.
