Before going any further -- you say (please don't type in all caps!):
ALSO HAD A GDAUGHTER ANN MCMILLAN, DEC 26 1866 - FEB 9 1968.
Hmm ... is this correct? He was born circa 1840, and he had a grandddaughter born 26 years later? Typo, methinks! (proofread proofread proofread)
In 1871, the only Mary Brown with parents John and Agnes I can see in Glasgow was born c1859, and the parents are much older than the date you have for John. They're also there in 1861, so that Mary's approx birth date would be correct.
--- Heh, I see that while I was fighting with Ancestry, others were doing better. Ancestry wants to give me results in Scotland when I do a general search for things in English censuses, but when I'm looking for things in Scottish censuses, it won't give me any ... and then when I search Scottish censuses specifically, it completely ignores everything I tell it about parents' names and such. So I'll leave this to those who seem to have access to better info!
