Hi,

I'm trying to find out when Edith Mary Crick born 1909 married William James Barker born 1908. I know they married some time between 1926 - 1934 In Suffolk or Norfolk.

Someone was kind enough to give me the following info :-

That they were married ... APRIL - JUNE 1931 THETFORD. 4b page 817

I've tried searching for the above entry but still can't find them, what am I doing wron, any help please.

Many thanks

Beverley

It's there! It just isn't transcribed anywhere yet.

Your helper must have scrounged through the images themselves, until s/he got to the one with the entry you were after. I went straight to the page for Crick in Q2 1931, and there's Edith, marrying Barker.

For good measure, I went to the page for Barker too, and yup, there's William J marrying Crick.

I searched for messages about Edith Crick, and I see that Seaham Lass gave you the info but didn't say how it was obtained. So that's how! Why not just update that thread to ask her -- or PM her directly?

This is now your third thread about this one question ... not good form. Sometimes people only see one, and multiple people do the same work.

And hmm. A previous thread about William Barker ... which I replied to, and you don't seem to have noticed.

Gee, Beverley, thanks for the message, although I really have no clue what you were talking about. You didn't post this message? --

or, now, these two identical threads -- which, fortunately, no one has wasted time duplicating effort on? --

I assure you that I don't have magical powers to "update" messages to make them look as if you or anyone else posted them.

What I did do was go to the trouble, the first time, of looking for the info you wanted, and was unable to identify your person precisely. When someone put in a lot of work to find what you were looking for (I assume that you sent them a "thank you" message by PM), and you posted again asking about the answer you had been given, I put some more work in and double-checked the answer you had been given and explained to you where it had come from.

So what the heck ... on behalf of myself and anyone else who has attempted to help you:

YOU'RE WELCOME.
