ancestry is the best place - you know she was alive in 1929 - its just a slow and carefull search until you find her

My father was born in 1965.
Nellie was his grandmother.

I know she died after 1929. I know she had 6 children, one was born dead in 1914, my grandfather Desmond (my dads dad) was the youngest born 1929.

I have only tried looking on Ancestry; I dont know of anywhere better I could try im afraid.

Thanks

Penny

Im trying to find the death date of my great grandmother.

Nellie Agnes Ashford was born in march 1895 in Edmonton, Middlesex; daughter of William Ashford from Hoddesdon and Charlotte (not sure on surname)

Nellie married a Frederick William Clifton in 1913, aged 18.

I have no idea when she died, i never knew this side of the family because my father was very much absent when i was growing up.

Also, if you are connected to the Ashford family, originated in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, my part moved to Middlesex; or related to a Clifton family, from middlesex, originated from Birmingham. Please get in touch.

Thanks!
