Had a quick look, but can't find anything on the hospital, or where records might be kept. You could contact the local records office, and they might be able to tell you if any are held, and where.

not sure what is on the cert as it is a friends family , but George tried to trace his mother before he died and failed his daughter has taken p the challenge and i am helping her
the hospital was the Wokingham Infirmary and the nurse was a sister Catherin Mary.
i have tried to find any news reports but no luck so far, any help would be wonderful he was found in an army coat in the snow on Fox hill in April 1917 by soldiers de camping to southampton to go to war.

Which hospital was it?

You could look for any reports in the local paper of the time.

yes family have his birth cert , but as you say mother was unknown , hoping that someone has somethin in their tree that may have been talked about years later, possible when the mother died, she may have left some papers that may have lead to George

long shot I know but cant think of anything else

Hi..on freebmd there is a birth George Fox, mmn Fox..Sept 1917...Wokingham...vol 2c..page 548.

Have you got that? Someone must have registered the birth.

Would they give the mother a name if they didn't know who she was? I don't know.

long shot any info on a baby found abandond
on fox hill Wokingham in 1917 he was named George Fox by the nurse at the hospital
