Sue.. ok I see where you are going with that one!

I will have a look and see what happens in 1851 and 1861, as that would indicate that they left the 2 girls behind when they emigrated (unless they had died of course..)

Many thanks for your lateral thinking!

I am seeking the following couple:-

Maria Clark nee Shaw born c1814 (died 76 in 1890) and William Clark.

Their son was born in 1852 in Manchester, they later emigrated. I can't find the marriage on the IGI as there are so many, similarly I looked for Maria Clark on the 1851 and there were only 3 but none looked like the right one.
I have tried Mar* and Cla* etc etc.. but I am expecting to find her with William and no other children as they emigrated in 1853 with only the infant son (or so I thought)

Maria's parents are William Shaw and Mary Howard and I can't find them in the census (maybe dead) or as a marriage in the IGI either!

I must be being thick tonight..

can anyone else see anything?

Back in 30 mins or so... any help appreciated.
