By George, Gail! I think you've got it!
Do you suppose that Caroline is a daughter of Sarah Fox by a previous marriage and George Drake is her step-father?

I am wondering, there are other George Drakes marrying other Sarah's on the IGI in Yorkshire but I ignored them to make the facts fit......lol

Where do the Halls come into it....??

And I am totally impressed, I was tearing my hair out looking for Caroline Drake and finding nothing,
Joseph Gunson died in 1/4 to March 1870 but I think that she was already living with my great grandfather at the time. They had a daughter Alice who was born 1/4 to Dec 1869 and registered as Alice Idle Gunson.
But as like you I can find no trace of a Caroline Drake I thought that the marriage certificate had just made things worse.
I can't thank you all enough for all your help, I think that I will send for Joseph Gunson's death certificate to see who reported his death.

Hi Angie

Good luck with the death certificate and all the rest of the research, it has been very interesting.
