my grandfather was William Pearce and his father was Francis Pearce.we only know that they lived in Llandaff Cardiff at the time of his marriage to our grandmother Emily Maud Williams in 1924.we have no other information.Can anyone help me trace my roots?

This is the nearest I can come up with that fits with the father's name and son's name and age and as you work back through the census years it seems more likely
The father is called William Francis Pearce,(I will refer to him as WF as it gets confusing)but he is a moulder. His occupation could have changed by the time of his marriage. In the birth in 1864 detailed below he is listed as Francis William Pearce so he may have preferred his second name - as in 1871 his father appears to be also called Francis. WF was listed as born in Cornwall in 1891 I think this was an error as it doesn't tally with 1901 or his birth.
In 1901 one of WF's father Francis was still living in Pontypool and one of his son's Clifford was a miner
