He did not live at that address in the 1891, I listed who was living there in the 1891.

I did an address search on the census year on findmypast and then it showed who lived at that particular address at time of census.

Many thanks Nicola,Lisa & Heather....Lisa has the correct family for 1881 but Henry is not with them on 1891.

Heather has them sussed for 1901 with Ernest HUmphrey living with them. They are at Old Factory Rd. Nth Deptford.(cam't find this on maps either except across the river.Henry was not there long as for most of his life he was a Currier/Tanner. 1st 3 children reg. Lewisham & Deptford, (where my Mother was born) reg. Greenwich Nth. Later all lived at Croydon.

The info I gave came from fiche which were quite difficult to read but I'm sure I copied what I 'saw' maybe it was for the preceding family. you get a bit dislexic after a few fiche.

Nicola, can you tell me how you found the people at Dockley Rd address please so I can maybe do a street search? or were you looking at the dreaded Fiche?

Heather I do hope your Martins of Bermondsey were not as hard to locate as mine in later yrs. very shy lot mine..

In 1881 there are too many Henry and Harry Martins in Bermondsey - you need solid facts - have you bought that marriage cert for his fathers name?

Some years back I looked up 1891 census on fiche at LDS Library. I found my G'father.."Henry Martin" -21 yrs- residence - 19 dockley Rd. Bermondsey. RGR 375 -10. fiche 5485 No other family there, he married in Dec. that year. Unable to find him anywhere on Ancestry or Find my Past. Martin name is often badly transcribed on censuses, even tried with just "Henry" & b.1869 + /-. Can anyone help here please, am unable to visit LDS Library these days to check fiche again. TIA.
