Find Ancestors

Hiya,

I am attempting my family tree but am having difficulty. I need to find out when my granparents married. Their names are Robert wiliam Adam 1916 and Solveig Calvert 1917. I am also trying to find their parents details.

If anyone can help me i would really appreciate it.

Hi sorry for the lack of info. I dont know a lot im afraid.
Robert and Solveigs first child was born in 1943 Derek adam.

As far as i know my grandfather robert was born in the UK - possibly Newcastle but i dont think my grandmother was.

Try the 'search trees' facility.....there are two other people who may have Solveig in their trees

You need to start by finding out whether they are likely to have married in the UK..........ask your uncle where he was born.....that might give a clue.

Could this be Roberts birth? Same switch of names as the death (eg William R, instead of Robert W)

Yes i think it could be, i did notice the names had switched round - god knows why. He was definately born on the 25/10 so that must be him. Does that record mean he was born in Cardiff?

Hi I think I've found the marriage

Solveig Calvert married someone with the last name Adam during the Dec quarter of 1939 in Newcastle. On the rest of the record it says he was William R Adam

If you order the marriage cert first, then the birth cert once the marriage has arrived. That way you will be able to make sure it is the right one by putting the fathers name as reference.
