Hi. I'm trying to trace the early years of Alice Gribbon, my great grandmother. She was born in Liverpool in 1866 to John Gribbon, a blacksmith & Catherine McCumiskey, who unfortunately died aged 24years within weeks of giving birth. I cannot trace Alice's whereabouts on the 1871 census, however on the 1881 census under the name of Gribbin, there is a child born in 1866 to a blacksmith called John, but it is named as Alfs a son. Anyone know if Alfs did exist or has this been written in error & it is indeed Alice. |
