Trying to find George E Steele c1865 Leicestershire.

I have him as a lodger in the Kilby household in Leicester in 1901 :
Ethel L Steele 1
George E Steele 36
Harold Steele 8
along side another lodger:
Emma Sherwin 37

I am tracing the Kilby family and wonder if his is a relative of Elizabeth A Kilby - head of household? I dont yet know Elizabeths maiden name.

Can anyone find out more about George Steele for me please - perhaps from an earlier census.

According to the census I have seen George E Steele was c1865 Canterbury, Kent.

If you check out George Edmund Steele on freeBMD you will see:

Pure guesswork, but one of the choices is a Gertrude Elizabeth Allen.

If you look for births of Steele in Leicester post 1905 there is an Edward and a James who have mothers maiden name as Allen.
