I’ve lost my maternal Grandmother’s parents.
From my grandmother’s marriage certificate (08/02/1907 Liverpool) she was:
Henrietta Elizabeth Wilson, a spinster aged 25.
Her Father was Robert Wilson, deceased, a mariner
Her married sister, Lucy, was a witness
From Lucy’s wedding lines (19/09/1902 Liverpool)
Her Father was alive and a mariner.
Lucy was 19
There was a witness Jane Wilson. (Sister/Mother? – no other info)
There are two likely deaths for Robert (FreeBMD) in Liverpool which suggest that he was probably born between 1847 and 1855
The rough d.o.b.’s for the sisters suggests parents married 1878 +/- 5
There is nothing obvious on 1881, 1891, 1901 for a married family; but there again he was a mariner.
My Grandfather’s line, Chapple, presents no problems.
Any suggestions would be most welcome

Theres something odd going on isnt there? You say Lucy's marriage cert doesnt mention dad being deceased but I guess that often happened anyway - its just this one is niggling me:
1891 - Lucy is shown as "adopted daughter" born Liverpool
Charlotte Gregg 56 David Gregg 28 Dorathy Gregg 18 Edward Gregg 26 Elizabeth Gregg 18 Matilda Gregg 23 Lucy E R Wilson 9

Thanks everybody. I think you have cracked enough for me to now make some real progress. A lot of my rellies will be made up. This has been a brick wall since the mid 1980's. Sorry about the dalay in answering but an urgent phone call - "It's raining and will you please pick me up?"- meant I had to go out. Thanks again George
