I think that i have a genertion or maybe two missing in my tree and wonder if anyone may be able to fill in the missing gaps:
This is what i have up to now,
Charles Leonard O Ebdon - 21/10/1918 Ottery St Mary
21/01/1996 Maidenhead Berkshire
His Mother was,
Elizabeth Ebdon -1898 Buckerell Devon

Her parents were,
Walter Ebdon - 1856 Tipton St John Devon
Edith Ebdon (Nee Bamsey) 1858 Whimple Devon

Walter's parents were,
William Ebdon - 1831 Ottery St Mary Devon
Harriet Clay - 1834 Ottery St Mary

William is shown in the 1841 census as living with his siblings ans a Mary Ebdon aged 80.
I thought this might be his grandmother (he was 10 yrs) so i am missing Williams parents but could there be another generation after them aswell as they did have their families at a young age.

Any help would be apperciated

1841 census does not show relationship, Mary could be anyone.
Sorry I can't look right now, I'm popping out & by the time I get back someone will probably have sorted this out

I cannot find him/them in 1841
Can you give clues? Please don't say the family in Durham.

All the Ebdons in Middleton were born in county so shouldn't be the family from Devon. I think Sue C has come up with correct family.
You need William's marriage cert to get his father.

I'm sorry, but I don't see how William living in Teesdale in 1841 can be thought to be the same as the one born in Devon

He, and all his siblings, are listed as having been born in County Durham.

You can't be sure without getting certs......at least the one for William's marriage

Hi Reg
this is the correct family and i do have the Clay's in my tree and the cert is on its way.
I was at devon not so long ago and viewed all the parish records, makes interesting reading.
