William Osborne OR Stannard Born Stuston Suffolk 1

I have been trying to trace my William for over 5 years now so maybe someone can help.

He joined the 12th Suffolk Regiment in c1849 and on his marriage certificate in Sydney 1859 stated his parents were William Osborne and Mary Stanley of Stuston. The nearest I can find is Mary Osborne 1798 and William Stannard 1807 - they had a William who was baptised in 1833.

I am hoping there is someone out there that has some more information through the regimental history.
