The marriage was probably in Ireland...........

As Oliver was in the RN, he could easily have met her there.

Was he English?

She was born in Ireland chob Queenstown but my father and his sisters were all born in Plymouth

I have checked the Plymouth Marriage Index (vol1)and could not find any details of the marriage.

I think volume 2 has the registry office marriages but I do not have that disc.

Kathleen was my gran and thats the spelling of their names on my dads birth cert.

kathleen Palmer / Oliver David Matthews 1915/16 devonport plymouth
He was a ships cook in the royal navy.
