There is a George Farquhar on ancestry but he served with the Seaforth Highlanders, I think, not the Black Watch. I looked earlier.

If he served in WW1 his records may be on Ancestry. If not, they will be at Kew, IF they've survived. A lot were destroyed.

Hi All,

I was just wondering if anyone could shed some light for me - i surprised my mother in law today with her tree - i was bursting to tell her and just could not wait until christmas basically so im hoping ot get a bit fo info on her father before then for her.

All i know is her grandfather was born approximately 1900 give or take a few years, his name was also George Farquhar and i believe he would have been around the Aberdeen area, also my mother in law said she knows he was in WW1 adn that he served in/as Black Watch??? ive no idea what this is but would love it if anyone knew where to look or could look for me??

Any help totally appreciated

Samantha
