I wonder if Sarah wasn't married to Edwin's father and the Townley's were Edwin's father's family??

Sarah doesn't seem to be with the Townley family when she was young.

OK Sarah Pollard (Moss/Wait) Is somewhat of an enigma.

She is apparently the Illegitimate daughter of Zillah Pollard Before Zillah Married Thomas Townley. I Do not know who Sarah Pollard's real father is. I do know that Thomas Signed on her marriage certificate to Edwin Moss (B 1861 d. 1888).

I Believed that Edwin Moss b 1889 was their first child and I think you all just confirmed that, so I think I will get his Birth certificate to check his father is Edwin Moss Snr.

However there is another child.....My grandfather. Arthur Nevill Pollard Moss b. 1890 who is Sarah Pollard's second Child. His Father is listed as Edwin Moss in the birth certificate. HOWEVER Edwin was dead before Arthur could even have been conceived.

Arthur was given up for adoption to the Hill Family in Nuneaton. It looks however as if his brother Edwin was kept in the fold of his Grandmother Zillah and her husband Thomas Townley.

I knew about Sarah working for the Swords, but not about the remarriage to William Wait...She is now back on my radar.

If this helps people get me any more info on this family it would be great

Can Anyone find Sarah Pollard b1858 with her mother in the 1861 census??? This might give a clue as to Zillah's first partner or Sarah's Father?
