Could I please have help to find any records on Edmund Henry Hill Born c1866 Guildford Surry - any siblings, parents ?

Have you found him in 1881? Census is free on two sites.

Son's Birth Certificate states Edmund Henry Hill - Wellborer 29 year born Guildford Surrey England. Dated 6/5/1895 - that would put his year of birth at 1866. I can find him anywhere either. Immigrated to Australia in 1890 approx. Thanks Jane

Who did he marry?

When and where?

The son's birth seems not to have been in England.......am I correct?

Sons mother Emma Quigg but she was born in Chinchilla Queensland Australia - so that is no help. He went to Australia on his own. Birth certificate for son issued in Australia.

I think either that or his death certificate pehaps. He would be on the immigration list but that doesnt really help with the family ancestory. he doesnt appear on the census either and yet he is there in black and white on an official birth certificate. Will try and investigate some other way. thanks Jane

these are the only two hills b guildford round at 1866.
Charles F Hill Alfred,
Olive abt 1867 Stoke Guildford, Surrey, England Son
William Hill William,
Mary abt 1868 Guildford, Surrey, England Son




cant even see one that matches doing a uk ,and nothing in births,but they were compulsory
1875.

I am really stumped. Perhaps he lied about where/when born but it is on his marriage certificate, I just looked up so I dont know what is going on....thanks Perhaps he had something to hide when he left UK...He only had a son and daughter and they didnt know anything about his past.

This is the nearest that I can come up with for 1871.

Have looked at the image, and Edmund was born Wonersh Surrey. Wonersh is just over three miles from Guildford.
