Emily Irvine, married Richard Taylor and gave birth to Edith Mary Taylor (my grandmother )in 1878 in Kirkby Steven, Westmoreland. Edith was the oldest of a very large family, more than 12. They moved to London in about 1888 to stay with family in the Fulham area. Some of the family emigrated to Australia after WW1.Others stayed around the Barnes area. My mother, Marjorie Chesworth, née Boston was in touch with some of the family, her aunts (Olive and Ivy and Hilda( who died as a baby I think) and cousins (I remember meeting Joyce) in the 1970s |
