Hi Christine -- is the scroll the Roll of Honour referred to here? --

http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=77421

There's a photo, and a discussion of the object.

"The following Men also served their Country
...
F Mason
F Mason
H Mason"

Not likely that your Frank Sr. was one of them, but his son?

This doesn't help you I'm afraid, but I thought you might like the picture!

I am looking for anyone who might know what happened to Frank Mason - he married Mary Wilson in 1896, they had two boys, Frank, born in Birmingham in1899 and John [my grandfather] born in Fulham 1900....they lived in Torrens Buildings, City Road, London, and apparently Frank walked out on the family when the children were fairly young, and no-one knows what became of him. He was the son of Henry and Eliza Mason from Sandon, and all we know is that he was a law writer, and was responsible for writing the memorial scroll at Sandon Church - any information would be so much appreciated, to fill in a gap in the family tree!
