Hi has anyone subscribed to the new site find my past .com? There are a few new deaths coming up for a named relative of mine and would be grateful if someone could have a look for me?

Kind regards

Naomi

GRAINGER George 1901 Yorkshire (North Riding) and
GRAINGER George 1923 Yorkshire (North Riding)

Thanks for your help - my mum just mentioned the site - is it any good?

Thanks

Hi Sophie - thanks for that - they are all a bit to late on the birth dates - are you able to search with birth dates at all, as we think he was born c1860???
Might look into it as a present from santa!

Regards

It's down as York. Some have Yorks on it though - as in Yorkshire. My thoughts are that it's York though.

On his marriage cert. his father was a fitter called Frank Grainger. So I'm afraid this one doesn't fit. On the 1901 he is down as - Geo Grainger 1860 born York registered Lincolnshire Clee- Retired Fisherman.

We think he might have been born George Grainger Powell (fathered by a previous un-named father on the birth cert) then changed it to George Grainger when his mother had another partner and her following children had the Grainger surname.

??? a bit confusing???

However - the death cert could be either for a George Powell or George Grainger b1860 in York, but we can't find anything for either!

pulling my hair out!

yeah that's him - we had to trace that through his father name and occupation in york from his marriage cert.
