I believe Martha Monk born 1789 Clavering, Essex, daughter of John Monk and Sarah Claydon/Clayton was the same Martha Monk who married Thomas Furr in Stevenage, Hertfordshire 16 Nov 1817 and who can be found in the 1851 census living in Fore Street, Stevenage with husband Thomas. Birthplace stated as Clavering Essex although birthdate c1793, which would indicate either that this is the wrong Martha or that she was being a little coy about her real age (she was quite a bit older than her husband so this could be a likely explanation) Before I embark on researching this Clavering Monk family, could anyone advise if they believe I am barking up the wrong tree, either because they know the Clavering Martha Monk remained in Essex or died as a child etc. Any help greatly appreciated.
